I got an offer from a major a major internet retailer of audio book digital downloads to carry my audio story, "The Hive."
After reading the agreement that I got from them I decided that I would do well to get an attorney or agent that would finish the negotiations for a percentage of whatever I make on the deal so I sent out emails to a few contacts and started making phone calls.
Responses have started coming in and, in fact, James, at Every Human, was kind enough to post my question on his blog. Why didn't I think of that?
So here is what I emailed out and if you have a contact or other information that you can share with me, please do so. I'm sure that a lot of us would like to know more about how this all works.
"I just received a Sublicense Agreement from a major internet retailer of audio book digital downloads that wants to carry my story, "The Hive" and other works that I may produce over the next two years. I am reviewing this but because of the "newness" of the field of audiobook digital downloads I would like to make contact with agents or attorneys who have experience in the field. So, Just in case you know of such a person, please let me know."
Finally, I also wonder if there is an even better way to market and share "The Hive." The reality is that any income from this story will make me better able to afford to go ahead and produce more of them -
Send me your suggestions.
